So...what if if just dwarf but slightly evil, the Duergar where a sort of dwarf/beetle hybrid? Or at least with some traits of the animal? After all they live near the Drows that worship spiders, so maybe it can be an idea. Their society would be as allway based on streanght, but now they'll have a sort of ritualistic duels or the like.

I'm not saying it's a better idea, but at least visually speaking their are more interesting.
