A request from a friend

Share

This is an acrylic painting I did on canvas, requested by a friend who was in the hospital with cancer. He was super into hunting, fishing, the likes, and wanted a painting of a Louisiana sportsman's paradise. He was doing very poorly, so as soon as he mentioned wanting the painting, I did it, in about 3 hours, and it was given to him the very next morning. He did pass away, about a week after I gave him the painting.

I like how the dog looks like he's laughing as the ducks fly past the hunter.

Knowing Duck Hunt reference?

DrSevenSeizeMD responds:

I don't think he played it, but I definitely did.

What a sad story behind this one... but solace at least in that he got it in time. Beautiful work too, especially the cut out style, and within such a time limit! Impressive, and what a wonderful gift too.

DrSevenSeizeMD responds:

Thank you! His wife has it now, and I hope it brings her peace, rather than sadness.

It is so cool that you did that for him. 3 hours is amazing. Especially for "wood-cut" style work.

DrSevenSeizeMD responds:

It makes you realize your problems really aren't that bad.

This is beautiful, as usual from you.
And sorry about your friend, I can't really say anything except for sorry.

DrSevenSeizeMD responds:

Thanks homie
