This is actually super clever. The narrator seems shitty enough that he'll probably wind up in hell anyway, so why should the devil pay top dollar for the promise of getting his soul EVENTUALLY when he can instead invoke a loophole, get it immediately for FREE, AND get a chance to be a massive troll in the process?
