Oh man, back when I thought of drawing this, those were crazy times. Bowsette had blown tf up, with tons and tons of fanart flooding my timeline. It was a HUGE September 2018 fad, and you can tell how big it got when even famous japanese mangakas started joining in on the fun. It was a pretty controversial time as well that not many people remember fondly, but I really liked the whole movement lmao.

Then Isabelle's Smash reveal trailer came by and my timeline completely switched to her lol. The time was already over so I thought, why not combine both and make em fight in Smash? And this is the result. It also helped me practice strong afternoon lighting on characters. Enjoy!
