Another set of characters from my webcomic, Codex Black, all of which have already debuted in the story.
Redrew Citlalmina's "official artwork" for the fourth time, I finally liked it. This time only women, and some of most beloved characters in general as well!
As an extra, here's Citlalmina without her quexquemitl, for your fan-servicey needs:

Thanks a lot!
I've been obsessed with these cultures for a very long time, so I'm glad to see people appreciate that part of my work!
These are some of my all time favorite characters, and some of the most popular among the readers of my comic as well hahaha!
These characters look pretty cool. Great job.
Thank you so much!
Hey, hey, hey!
I love these designs and the colors make me go "ooooooo!" ^^
Thanks a lot! Glad you like them! :D
Ok, what inspired you to make these characters? Like books or something. This stuff makes me want to look more into Central American culture.
That's a difficult question. Been doing research on Mesoamerican cultures for over a decade now, so it's hard to pin it all down to a few sources of inspiration.
However, a lot of my style is influenced by prehispanic codices, specially those of the Borgia Group, like Codex Borgia and the Mixtec codices like Codex Nuttall, Codex Laud or Codex Fejervary Mayer.
I'd also note that even though the Maya area does extend through Central America, the rest of Mesoamerica includes the southern half of present day Mexico, which is part of North America.
Dude this is amazing :D
Thank you!! :>
