Based off of this image, 
I used the original colors then added some filters and manually added lighting and such. Sorry for the long wait, IRL crap got in the way. This was my first real time drawing a character which mimicked Ristar in some fashion that's not a direct trace (The first time I drew Ristar in general was an old trace I did of the JP box art when I was like 9 or 10 I think.)
