Oh jesus this is beautiful. I still haven't watched Lain, it was recommended to me like 15 years ago and I've avoided spoilers ever since. I'm kinda scared to do it now because it seems like it's going to be really sad. Also I love the vaporwave aesthetic and listen to a lot of vaporware playlists. I love that sensation of calming but sort of melancholy music, like I'm listening to something lost that I'll never get back.

It's been forever since I've drawn Lain. SEL is one of my favorite anime so it's really nice to revisit her again (^-^)
I thought Lain and Vaporwave would go nicely together too, haha.
I've also found new appreciation for Vaporwave and its history. Despite the memes, I've been finding some really cool artists and their music has struck a chord in me. Some of my fave artists so far are VHS Logos, t e l e p a t h テレパシー能力者, Saint Pepsi, DataLife, 猫 シ Corp., and ECO VIRTUAL.

Great work here! Such a fantastic series, besides. I'll be checking those artists! As regards the vaporwave artstyle, there are some great pieces in this style... And usually it has a comforting, nostalgic feeling.
