Killing Covid!

Share

I had a much more complex drawing idea for something like this in mind but it would have taken a lot of script writing and drawing time. In the end it would’ve been too political and time consuming. Instead I drew the Covid-19 virus at gun point getting shot and killed. 2020 is over and I am NOT repeating that shit! Now my Grandparents have the virus and I hope they will be okay but at the same time I’m furious about a dumb virus ruining everyone’s lives! Fortunately they have had their shots and the doctor says after they take the meds they begin to start feeling better. I’m not afraid of a stupid virus and I don’t want to repeat 2020 all over again! Not to mention I’m planning on going on vacation next week. Please keep my Grandparents in your prayers.

Update: My Grandparents are feeling a lot better now.

Edit: The original idea is written in a reply in the comments below.

I never got sick in 2020, and while I did in February of this year, I ultimately survived it; and I say that as someone who never got the vaccine. It's almost like people wanted it to be the next Bubonic Plague, or smallpox. In spite of this, anyone who catches it has a 99% survival rate, and 95% survival rate under other circumstances (being too old, being obese, or having some other illness).
What made the C-Virus truly dangerous is not the virus itself. Instead, the response to it made it deadlier than we could have ever imagined. People lost their jobs and some ended up homeless. By printing more money for stimulus checks, inflation has skyrocketed at the same rate as poverty. Due to supply-chain disruptions, it has caused food shortages across the world. And I can't believe environmenatlists were actually happy that people were no longer driving their cars to work. With the exception of Ukraine, the reaction to covid lead to the situation(s) we are currently in.
Hysteria is humanity's biggest flaw, if not, worst pandemic.

SolidSnakeOnAPlane responds:

I never got sick in 2020 either. I only caught it once in either 2021 or 2022. Even then I wasn’t afraid. But 2020 being the worst year for everyone on the entire planet in the history of mankind has to be more than just a coincidence. It’s like the year was intentionally cursed.

What was your orginal idea?
Edit: Yes you did.

SolidSnakeOnAPlane responds:

It would’ve featured Metal Gear Solid characters Solid Snake and Otacon talking about an idea for stopping Covid for good by trying to drop a nuke on China for starting it. But then they get idea “what if we’re wrong”. In the games they want to prevent nukes and war but they are debating if commencing a nuclear strike on the country that started the pandemic would get rid of the virus. Either they would’ve been looked at as war criminals for being wrong or heroes if they were right. Nukes and war are both the two things they hate but wonder if doing it to stop a pandemic is a good idea even if it meant taking lives of some innocent people. In the end Otacon would’ve said to Snake “God have mercy on you if you’re wrong.” And Snake would’ve said “If I’m wrong we’re at war.” The last panel would’ve featured Snake’s hand over the iDroid device as seen in the games and having to make the ultimate decision. Whether or not to commence the nuclear strike. Ending with the art viewer in question on what Snake’s decision was and if he did the right thing. Snake also being under pressure of what choice to make. The finished idea was way easier and it probably was the better choice.

Edit: Did I make the right choice in changing the idea?
