While writing some lore for Jaqueline I’ve also ended up making lore for her parents so I drew this.

The story as to how the three of them got together is as follows:

After one of the worst ever attacks by the Covenant, Sunshine and Donna rendezvous back to the remnants of their home town. Donna, seeing Sunshine carrying the newly-born Jaqueline, let them stay a while with her in her settlement. Sunshine received debilitating injuries during this attack so both Donna and Sunshine expected herself and Jaqueline to leave her home when she recovered and when the town was rebuilt. It is soon realized that the damage Sunshine received permanently affected her ability to walk and that both Sunshine and Donna underestimated the severity of the attack on the town. Donna believed that having Sunshine and Jaqueline in her home would ruin her livelihood but soon realized they had gotten rid of the loneliness Donna has felt. Sunshine was stuck thinking about herself (and caring for Jaqueline), reconsidering her position as a nun and how she fits in the now damaged community she now lives in. For a while Sunshine just befriended those around her, survivors, neighbors, and even local wildlife, but eventually she moved to caring and comforting the wounded (either while caring for Jaqueline or having someone else babysit her). Because the both of them became accustomed to living together, Donna and Sunshine became close friends. After many months of unofficial dating (aka Sunshine asking Donna to being her drinking buddy, as they get drunk and talk about personal stories and such), Donna realized and expressed her feelings towards Sunshine. Sunshine awkwardly acknowledges these emotions expressed towards her every time Donna expresses them. At some point Sunshine embraces being Jaqueline’s mom, which was a role she struggled to come to terms with, and dedicates herself to being a nurse for the town. That and when realized she was a lesbian did she finally accept Donna’s feelings and resigned the position of being a nun. Since then the two of them try their hardest getting through life together and raising Jaqueline as one of their own. As a signature for their love Donna traded for some silver rings for both her antennae and Sunshine’s antennae. Since they’ve gotten together, one of the things the two lovers wish for is to have a wedding celebrating their love, with their neighborhood friends attending the wedding.
