A Lurker In The Dark

If you're in a dark place...and for a split moment hear what sounds like an accordion, but cannot see anyone playing an accordion, or even anything that could be playing music before everything falls into complete and utter silence...watch out. A Lurker has appeared...

Make noise, stomp loudly towards the nearest light source or create your own, and whatever you do, do NOT stop scanning your environment. After you spot it, it should hover backwards slowly before returning to whatever underworld it ventured forth from as long as you aren't in total darkness.

Wait a few moments to make sure it isn't waiting you out, and then get back to where there is more light.

Messing around with colours, distortion filters and the smudge tool in Photoshop led to the creation of the background, and after it started looking dark and spooky, I wanted to draw a ghostly monster floating around in the void.

Not quite October yet, but that ain't gonna stop me. lol

When thinking about creating a spooky skeleton monster, my mind thought about what it's goal might be.

So I figured: What if it can only manifest in the world if someone thinks something IS lurking in the shadows? So being cautious and staring it down sends it forcibly back to wherever it came from, and if it catches you, it doesn't hurt you (directly), but instead drags you around, yells loudly and your terror allows it to linger in the world long after you've fled in sheer panic after breaking free.

And hiding in those robes is more bones that make it so it's arms can stretch out 4x as much as it looks in this drawing.

So the promotion would probably be 'You scream for me, your house gets a new roommate.'
Long story short: Don't get grabbed by the Ghoulies. @_@
