Solid colors and atmospheric!
HO HO HOPE you become a Newgrounds Supporter this year!
We're working hard to give you the best site possible, but we have bills to pay and community support is vital to keep things going and growing. Thank you for considering!
Even when 8-bit, your character can only sprint for a few seconds, even when chased by the rusty cleaver ghost. :P

Happy Pixel Day everybody!
I challenged myself to make something in just a few hours as art speed practice, and I'd been wanting to make some sort of fanart for Phasmophobia as it's a game that still manages to give me the heebie-jeebies no matter how many times I play it with my friends. haha
I doubt the colours I picked fit into any kind of actual 8-bit pallet restrictions, but I did try to limit myself to as few colours as a test.
Also pretty proud of how the ghost came out in pixel-style, which is why I added the 'Warning' section.
The real Phasmaphobia is never kind enough to give you a direct on-screen warning if the ghost is coming after you. If you don't notice the front door or gate lock in front of your face or see your equipment malfunctioning, you're hooped. But maybe in a 2D version when you can see the whole screen it would add a flashing warning just to taunt you. lol
Took some inspiration from Castlevania 1 + 2 for background and enemy design, they do a good job implying detail when working with so few pixels. :)
Enjoy! :D
Solid colors and atmospheric!
Thanks Zloler!
Took a lot of inspiration from the Castlevania 2 sprite and background work.
Game has a nice day / scary night back and forth vibe to it, so it's where I got my ideas for the
palette choices.
Great! :D
HAPPY PIXEL DAY! :>
Thank you!
I hope you had a happy Pixel Day yourself. :)
Awesome!
Glad ya like it. :)
I wish I could make pixel art this good, amazing job man, happy pixel day!
Trick is to just keep trying and not give up while you practice it.
It also never hurts to look at pixel games from various eras and figure out how they get stuff to pop off the screen.
Castlevania does it with complimentary colours and highlights with the enemies and the backgrounds. Best of luck to ye!
