You left the world of the mortality. It had been a long life well lived. Rising to the higher plane, only as a soul of an old man's afterimage, you glimpse an entity of grand power. So grand it radiates, bursting forth from him. His form is a mix of swirling energy and earthen vines, blended together. Hard to make out specific details.

You realize now, that this being, is the the one you met in life. In the physical realm, he looked strong, hardy, like an infinitely towering being of tree. But in it's true form. It's grand, yet humbled. It looks at peace. A comforting thought.

It looks upon you, as it did before. And you feel a change within.

"Death isn't the end for you"

Your very being lights up, painfully so. The afterimage fades as your soul is split open. Roots, leaves, summon forth out of the gash and swirl around the soul. Your soul, born anew. Rapidly a new form springs from it, creating a wooden face, and a long spindly body of branches.

Your eyes close.

"Pass upon your wisdom, as many others have done. And create new life, in my name. That's all I ask for you to do now."

And they open again, to find yourself in the middle of a great forest

Alive. No longer man, but now a being wrought of tree, earth and bone.

But alive none the less.
