I'm quite happy with this piece. It's part of a big story I'm working on in my final year of college.

To summarize a slightly complex storyline, this creature is known as a Promontory Dragon, which are burrowing earthworm-like dragons which can grow to colossal sizes. In this part, one has gone into a panicked frenzy and the main character makes a bold attempt to calm it down using an ancient instrument known as an "Opal Tooth".

The instrument is based on a bullroarer - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vscBpbao7Os I imagine the sound it makes would be similar to the sounds these creatures would make when talking to each other, such as when a mother dragon is soothing her stressed-out brood, or when they're staking their territory (people would make this sound to ward them off of farmland).
