I'm actually a big fan of the xcom franchise since it first came out (maybe not enforcer and interceptor) but the revival of 2012 xcom is a great game and likewise when I first saw the E3 announcment back in 2015 for xcom 2 I quickly devised this (in case anyone else tried to beat me to the punch)

Xcom 2 is set 20 years after the first war where earth surrendered, xcom was crushed and a new world regime established by the Aliens came about called "ADVENT"

While there was speculaation at the time what would be in I came to the idea what if the Alien rulers held a showtrial since humanity fell to rub it to the player what they lost, and in this case it was Vahlen facing trial for her actions (she was the scientist and interrogator) So you could say an for eye.

It's also called showtrial as it's staged, Vahlen is only spared the death penalty via her own device when a child pleas with the Audiance not to martyr Vahlen and that ADVENT must rise above the old world, setting them as moral champions. Unaware the child and the old man are actors who play their part in swaying the crowd.

Of course that never happened in the game (instead we got the very difficult and even unfair alien rulers dlc)

I got a bit of flak from this as well as it struck a nerve with some but this is the picture I'm mostly associated with.
