"Inside the great discord like innumerable islands of vegetation, many of them strange and unusual. Necessary for survival, even. Most of them are devoid of any life beside plants, but not all of them are made like this.

The white sand and sandstone that dominates the discordance is so bright one is forgiven for not noticing the inhabitants of these occupied islands. Only when approaching them, getting within close distance and dwarfed by its trees do the creatures reveal themselves. Standing at the very edge where the shadows fall and coming no further. Appearing as if they had just arrived, but in reality they would have likely be staring at you for minutes, hours even before you had reached the shores of their small island in the sand. While they make no movements towards you, you'd be more aware of all functions of your body than ever before, careful to not make any motions that could cause them to surge forward. However much time passes, they barely make a movement. When retreating from the island, as more of the creatures appear on the edge of the shadow, just one worrying thought consumes your mind "Will they leave the island at night?"
