Yvette & Tuco Model Sheet

Share

Another model sheet for my Reptile House series, this time with Yvette Ortegon, a tiger salamander and the bass guitarist for Wyld Syde. I also decided to do something a little different and add her son Tuco.

In terms of physique Yvette is the largest member of the band in height and bust size as well as the oldest. In fact she's the bands' designated driver due to being the only legally old enough to drive. She's also something of the team mom of the band in conjunction with being an actual mother, making sure they're all taken care of during practice and during performances. She learned to play the bass from her late father, who worked part-time as a mariachi performer in Mexico before moving to the States. It's part of what inspired Yvette to pursue a potential career in music and her musical style tends to resemble the mariachi style.

While she may be the most mature and responsible of the band, that wasn't always the case. The reason she wound up pregnant with Tuco to begin with was because she gave in to her baser impulses following the band winning a talent show with a handsome tiger salamander boy she had just met that very evening. After a very brief but rocky relationship he wound up ditching her upon finding out she was pregnant and refused to have said pregnancy terminated. It was only due to the support of her bandmates and her mother that she didn't quit the band, although she does worry about whether it's a viable long-term career for a single teen mother. She's also looking to find a father figure for her son. As a mother she's very doting on her little Tuco and likes to spoil him with toys and affection, as well as very protective of him and is very picky about who she lets babysit, including her own bandmates.

Like many amphibians his age Tuco must live in water for at least the first few years of his life. He can handle being out of water so long as his gills are wet. But as he gets older his gills will disappear, he'll lose his need to live in water and he'll develop stripes like his mother. When she takes him out she uses a type of stroller made for amphibian infants that's basically a water tank with wheels. His crib is also water tank with special filters for air and bodily waste.
