Zak is a Helluva Boss OC for my upcoming comic series, Shade & Marcellus (S&M). In the story, Zak is going to be an important character. Similar to the other test subjects, Zak is a young hybrid hellborn of imp descent along with mixed genetics (will be revealed what in the next concept art piece). However, before he was taken to the lab prior to his 5th birthday (not sure if that'll be his final age), he lived in the Lust Ring with his mother, a flying imp named Zaara. While both were relatively in poverty in a shitty motel, they were still happy and together.

Unfortunately, one morning, Zak couldn't wake his mother no matter what he tried. Thinking she was just exhausted from work, he ended up having cereal for breakfast and tinkering with the broken toaster until his mother's boss came storming in, enraged. It was there that he found out that his mother had died and he was going to be placed in the foster system (before anyone gets on my back, the system is already a living hell IRL, makes sense why Hell would have one, especially to exploit children). This is where the young, brilliant impling's life would take horrific turn.

Surprise! Kid's half-Goetia! That's why he has the extra eyes, feathery wings, extra 2 toes including the back talon, and his horns resemble a horned owl's "ears". His daddy also had psychic abilities...leading to the impling/owlet to losing his ability to talk when the IMP-Perials began running experiments and surgery on his brain.

Don't worry though; he'll escape eventually and gain a new family out of it. It doesn't erase his mother, but makes his life much, much better.
