There's enough nightmare fuel to go around in our world without the need for ghosts and goblins.
If the peace were ever to be lost because of the actions of our leaders, that would be one of the scariest things I'd have to face. Everything previous generations had fought for would be up in flames -- and that's scary to me, speaking as someone who has endured many frightening things.
