This is my first attempt at a digital painting since... this, I guess. (I thought it was earlier, but it appears that a recent redraw of mine counts.)
It's also my first attempt at digitally painting a human character.
I drafted the outlines on MS PowerPoint, and then did the rest over Autodesk Sketchbook over the course of three hours. I know it's an actual first attempt at painting the kind of human figures / faces that I tend to draw, and there's plenty of figurative rough edges that could do with smoothening as I put out future pieces. Nonetheless, I am very proud of this one.
Some of you know that I'd been quite violently ill of late; I did this in part to tune out those awful cramps and other symptoms I'd been feeling.
This will serve as my user icon / background over Advent and Christmastide.
