Graphite and charcoal

It's been awhile since I have seen someone try charcoal and graphite. So I'll speak from the best of my abilities. I absolutely love it! gives that vibe of creepy crawlyiness i die for. The look on her face is sublime as well kind of a "I'm better then you and I'm going to make you pay for it" kinda look. that being said, I do feel some of the shading on the snakes could be worked on. they don't quite PoP out like I feel they could. +3 stars for the overall quality -1/2 for the snake details and +2 stars for those eyes.

I appreciate your words and observations. This piece was years in the making, as it was forgotten in a pile of sketches. It was truly challenging given that I'd only done snake detail digitally, and I'd considered it difficult to master digitally (I still haven't mastered it.) I do believe some of the tonal variation was lost in the scanning and digital retouching later on. It was also A4-ish in size and printer or sketching paper. I should have redrawn on a better, thicker type of paper. I guess I didn't think much of what it might become. Lesson learned.

Either way, I appreciate you stopping by to take a look, and leaving a thoughtful message.
