wow very good
Quite detailed, the description too.
Marquis Amon, Lord of the Seventh Circle. A god of fire and death, once worshiped in Egypt. He is a haughty and often cruel master, unfriendly and uninterested in the politics of Hell. Though he commands only forty legions, Amon answers only to the King of Hell himself. His power to take life has no equal.
This is a design I played around with for a while. The description sort of incorporates elements of Dante's Divina Commedia and Plancy's Dictionairre Infernal. I took the idea of the Seventh Circle (Violence) from Dante to give him the attributes of a warrior-king. Dictionairre Infernal describes him as a "wolf with a snake's tail who can breathe fire, or as a man with dog's teeth who is situated inside of a raven, or as a raven-headed man." I took the idea of a wolf/raven/snake hybrid on fire and ran with it. The snake aspect isn't here but it's basically a separate entity wrapped around his arm that turns into a spear. Spears, of course, are a pretty big deal in religious imagery - spear of Longinus, Qyn (metal-smith) as the root of Cain - plus I like the fact that spears are such a precise and destructive weapon.
