originally made this retake for a "Mario mix" of burning. however, i decided to expand the concept.

INK is a liquid substance that assimilates whatever biological form it touches. people or animals who are fully converted by INK lose memory of who they were, mutate, deform, and attempt to convert anything they can, basically zombified. while being submerged in ink would instantly convert anyone, getting hit by it will have it slowly spread across you until it fully converts you. INK itself feeds off of negativity thus the more negative a person is, the more drastic any deformities or mutations the ink will cause. however, this also backfires on the ink as positivity will starve and even repel ink, with enough of it, one would be able to de-ink a person or shake off any ink on themselves. as for lore: INK was an attempt at making bowser stronger by harnessing his pure anger into a sort of armor. however, it backfires and breaches out into the world, bowser becoming patient #0 of the disease.
