Being born in the early 2000s, I watched Dora the Explorer when I was a kid. I mean, there isn't much I can say about it considering it's a Nick Jr. show. Other than the fact that Dora is clearly cute enough for me to have considered drawing. I just did it out the blue last year, in my sketchbook, so this is one of the few current drawings with origins on paper.
Why did I go with this design for her? Simply put, I like it better than the official older designs she gets later. One of those things where a character can change so drastically that they're not super recognisable. But don't get it confused; I imagine her like she's old enough.
The biggest mindfuck to me is this small fact: in every non-English country, Dora is teaching people English rather than Spanish. I expected that for the Spanish countries, but it's everywhere else. I get the reason behind it, but that is still bizarre for me to grasp.
She, Wordgirl and Kai-lan should unite for a drawing, huh? Teach you everything about language.
