Happy birthday to headmaster Merle Ambrose, with much love from the denizens of Wizard City! It passed their 16th birthday both the game and the Spiral continues to grow each year like this one! Each cake was carefully (and hastily) crafted from students of each major school of magic.. and Shadow, and they're all for the headmaster and his owl Gamma.
Cake lore if interested;
-- Fire wizards burnt their original cake.. and a few others after, so the students opted for something different. They eventually settled on pancakes but not without spicing them up with something savory and sweet. A few dashes of chocolate and lots of marshmallows later and they've made the ultimate fiery treat!
-- The Ice wizards originally planned to do a Yule Log cake but decided to save that for Yuletide, in retrospect, it was the best decision. Some of the foreign students shared their recipe for a Swedish cheesecake (often referred as Ostkaka). It was cool and gentle much to their delight, they even brought in a jar of strawberry jam to complement the dessert. How n-ice of them!
-- Storm wizards get a lot of flack for their boisterous personality but there's a few things no one can deny about them; they're loud, Fire and Myth wizards can't stand them, and they're creative when they choose to be. When the class discovered ube cake, they couldn't pass up the opportunity to show off their school pride. Then, from the back of the class, one student claimed the Ube cake wasn't enough and gave their classmates the idea of the pastry that stands before us; the Ube Flan Cake, combining the luscious Flan with the prideful Ube in one scrumptious fusion!
-- Myth wizards were pretty nonchalant when it came to deciding a cake, the students saw Cyrus eating a coffee and walnut cake and went with that. You could argue it's a lazy choice but you can't deny, it's a solid and simple staple that can be eaten either morning, noon or night.
-- Going for a more exotic gift, the Life wizard bundled together for the strangest concoction among all the schools; a Bang Bo Nuong, otherwise known as a Vietnamese Honeycomb Cake. Gentle and nourishing like healing magic, the theurgists topped their cake with a homemade banana cream icing. They cut a few slices, carried them on a silver platter and set them on the table with the other strange confectionaries.
-- Death wizards love chocolate, they're not gonna sugarcoat it. Actually, they were going to coat it in more chocolate but they had a feeling the headmaster wouldn't like having too much chocolate. More for them, I suppose. The cake crafted by the necromancers is known as the Black Forest Gateau, a treat chocolate-lovers must have at least once in their life.
-- Balance wizards struggled the most before they even decided what kind of cake they should make, after a long while, they finally reached a choice; the Galette des Rois, regarded as "the King's cake". It appeared flaky yet smooth with a rich crisp, the sorcerers were mighty impressed but it could use a few finishing touches; a spiral pattern of powdered sugar and a small flag to show their appreciation. A truly harmonious addition to the lively roster of cakes.
-- A few wizards who still find value in the nature of Shadow magic heard about the great cake smorgasbord for the headmaster and wanted to pitch in. They didn't have a lot of ingredients to work with but managed to make a chocolate cake but they knew they could do better. An idea eventually formed and the club made their large dessert into cake pops, decorated with lots of colorful but edible glitter. Despite the name they chose, these treats contain zero amounts of any spider-related product.
