A resolute upstart amongst the depth dwelling dreamspawned, Phobius the Nightmarriviste has set his goals higher than the surface of the dreaming sea itself. His charisma has garnered a hefty following of zealots amongst his generation, and his pugnacious defiance of the ruling Depth lords has earned him great infamy. His name is whispered throughout the currents in hushed tones by seafolk of every biome.

Phobius cares nothing for the reputation he has garnered, instead setting his sights upon an even greater prize than fame or status. For he wishes to rise triumphantly from the fathomless depths, and usurp sovereignty over dreams themselves, turning the entirety of mortal subconscious thought into a hopeless mixture of anxiety and terror. A state of mind that can only be overcome by those willing to evolve. 

His weapon of choice is the Trident scepter Nullaby. A weapon forged in a dream and transferred to reality through use of a bionieric oyster. Despite being made from aragonite and conchiolin, it has the ability to conform its shape to the desire of it's wielder, constantly writhing like bladed tentacles. 

This is a character who, funnily enough, came from a dream of mine. I based his armor design off of Sea scorpions from the Silurian age. Fortunately, me designing him coincided with Mermay, so I thought I could use him as my debut contribution to the hashtag! I do plan to design him a little more, mainly what he looks like underneath his shell. But for now I am happy to share what I believe to be my best drawing yet!
