This was mostly an excuse for me to try out some new techniques for coloring and shading an art piece quicker than a fully-rendered piece. Definitely inspired by Final Fantasy logos and the such for this. This project was a really good string of coincidences, since AlyxGMusic was working on a Halo Wars-inspired music track right around the time that I felt the need to make this. I'd say it all worked out in the end :)
