I actually think you did quite well.
I really like how you handled the shading and the transition in tone of color.
In terms of the face, this might seem like an odd point, but facial structure actually ages quite distinctly, while you do have some of the fullness of the face (AKA: Baby Fat) your cheek structure actually looks more adult.
Nothing wrong with that, as some kids just look like this, but I thought you might find that information valuable.
Human faces continue to grow structurally until about the the mid twenties, and There are several interesting things that happen to the skull over time.
(IE the skull fusing, and the baby teeth falling out)
Some people's face can actually have a very dramatic change from early childhood, in not small part due to puberty.
Sorry for rambling, I just really like what you did with this, and wanted to let you know how to change it a little.
The eyes are truly haunting though.

Heh, it's pretty obvious I have no skill at drawing children ( difficult! ). Hope to improve one day. You're advice will certainly help in the future. :D
