All things considered you background is fairly good! I feel having the back coloring faded would make the "focus" of the image more pronounced. Also I'd refine the perspective a bit, but hey, still looks good to me.

Me trying to get into coloring, and backgrounds. Here’s my first attempt. I think it may have turned out a bit too bold. I may want to sharpen up the shading, and try more a cel kinda thing. I don't really like the background, much.
