Rey is attempting to assassinate Cat... we can see how thats blowing over. Cat is a carries the disease known as Hemolytic Psychosis, if any of her bodily fluids enter that of another living thing it becomes a blood thirsty killing machine. The husk that becomes infected turns into a monster so fierce that it completely forgets what it once was and immediately assumes a predator state, drawing in any prey and tearing it to pieces. Each infected reacts differently to the virus. The only cure is death itself.
