Thanks for the great feedback. I thought the lower half was a bit too dark myself but I needed to finish it without getting too carried away. I started off with a small thumbnail sketch with the idea of something close to the camera in the foreground. I haven't done many western themes or horses so I know I wanted to have some sort of subject relating to that and then a somewhat simple background. I messed with a lot of color options from real life reference until I got something that contrasted well with the rest of the image and the grave vs the light of day.
