Sonic the Hedgehog, Going fast for 30 years!

I love this franchise, especially the iconic music through the years. I wanted to remix Ice Cap as it's one of Sonic's highlight moments from the 90s; who doesn't remember that snowboard sequence?! Not only this, but I've always found the melody so hypnotic and I would play through Sonic 3 just to get to this zone and hear it!

This remix opens with a cinematic orchestral section before it speeds up into a Trance/EDM Club track with prominent Techno and Rave influences.

By-the-by, this is also my 50th upload to Newgrounds, which is nuts!

I hope I've done the original justice! And I hope you enjoy!

Happy Birthday Blue-Blur!

I like the dark mood at the beginning and the rich atmosphere. The strings at :34 come in a bit suddenly, but also add a solemn air to the texture. The synths at :49 are a bit cheesy, and by around 1:10 the texture feels a tad too busy. The production quality is solid overall, but it might help add some additional clarity to dial back the reverb a tad. The beat at 1:52 is catchy, but the drum samples and chord progression is pretty generic. The piece really comes together at 3:38, with the bass-heavy mix and blissful melodies. At some point, I would’ve liked to hear some more variety to the main riffs and some more dynamic melodic content, though. Overall, the mood, atmosphere, rhythmic elements, and production are all enjoyable here. The composition was a bit bland at times, and the instrumentation was pretty generic. That said, the rich texture and upbeat mood helped keep me engaged. Keep at it, Ultimatepalmtree3! ^_^

always down for a remix of my favourite song from the sonic franchise. wasn't expecting hard house donks but it's an interesting way to go with it! the orchestral intro is cool but i think you leave out bass in the cutaway to the main theme and fade it back in for maximum buildup potential. mixing is mostly solid but i think the kick needs a bit more punch and a little less sub to make room for the plentiful bass synths. apart from the snareclap and the fast trance bass, the stereo image is very narrow and makes the track feel cluttered towards the end. it kind of dragged on a bit so i'd look at either tightening that ending up and/or shortening the intro to tighten up the structure. nice work overall though.
