I'm not sure if anyone would expect me to be inspired by this piece of art but I immediately was. I know the artisit intended one thing, but my inspiration took it in another direction. The struggle between old flesh and the new spirit man in a born again believer in Jesus Christ and also cutting off the sinful flesh or dissociating from the 'old man' as we call it. This is a personal song in a way as most all my songs are, but I am not ashamed to say that I am a man who has struggled with my faith and what to do in my walk with Jesus Christ, because that is why Jesus gave us His Holy Spirit- we can't walk this walk alone, we need help! Whenever I make the wrong decision- to walk in the wrong direction, I have a guide in the Holy Spirit to convict me and tell me I am wrong. Jesus loves me and He loves you! He died on the cross once for all of man's sin and rose from the dead to declare Himself victorious over sin death and the devil! All He wants from you is yourself. I'm sick of letting him take control of my mind
