STORY: Part 27
The allied forces had to retreat and were now cornered in their last refuge, the Guardian Island of Thera Ur where the Sentinel Graveyard was still a haunting sight for Nervan.
The war was a losing one, how could they defeat the might of Merklar?
Nervan traveled to the graveyard by himself, lost in thoughts of despair.
While wandering, his thoughts were on his lost brethren and everyone who had sacrificed themselves in this world when suddenly he can hear a whisper as the crystal dust on the ground begin to float and surround him. It takes the shape of the head of a Grathranmar that begins to speak to him. His heart pounding hard like it would jump out of his chest, a sensation he had never felt but now in the presence of the spirit that spoke for the entire Grathranmar race made him feel like never before. It told him of an ancient secret that could help him, but only if he was willing to pay the price.
Nervan was unflinching in his answer, he knew what had to be done and without hesitation he accepted his destiny.
He traveled to a sacred cave of the Grathranmar where the essence of all his brethren gather when they die. There was a small lake that shone with a radiant blue where he stopped. Here he recited the words told to him by the ancient spirit.
Suddenly all around him crystal particles that shined with a white light rose up, the lake became crystal dust and began to circle around him as the light intensified until he was completely covered in its embrace.
Nervan could feel a change from the inside, he felt warm, and then an intense heat like his body was on fire. The pain became almost unbearable and when it felt like he was going to burst he screamed out in pain, his voice so loud it was heard all across the world. He was engulfed in a white explosion that destroyed the whole cave and made the immediate area a flat barren land that glowed with an intense white light which eventually calmed, and then there was now only one focused light remaining. It floated in the middle of where once a small lake had been, and as the light became softer a shape emerged of a man. It was Nervan, now completely transparent with a radiant body of pure crystal, and his eyes glowing like small white super novas explosions.
