I woke up on Sunday morning, with the itch to do music after finally recovering from last month, and in my post-sleep haze I had come up with the intro to the song, but when I wrote it down, it was a good idea, but I didn't know where to take it. Then I found a phase shift option in Vital called "Shepard Tone" and proceeded to go crazy because it sounds hella cool and is what gives all the synths in this song their flavor.

I am absolutely petrified that I made some monumental mixing or melody fuck-up that I won't hear till later, because this is probably my favorite song to date. As much as I should be trying to keep it a little simpler, I just couldn't resist the allure of these cool sounds coming together. Hopefully it won't be my downfall! This probably could have used a bit more time in the oven, but I had already passed the point where I do more re-listening than actually working so I doubt I would have gotten much done anyway.
