It's been a while since I've reimagined/covered a song from a game and I have been ITCHING to cover something disturbingly complex, so here is a cover of Lusamine's battle theme from Pokemon Sun and Moon! I had SO much fun while doing this!!

I think part of why I loooove covering songs is that I get to learn so much about composition and often time deal with chords and strategies I haven't encountered yet! This song definitely provided all those challenges and more. Honestly, the biggest challenge was balancing out the orchestral and brass parts! I am trying my best to learn how to incorporate those kinds of instruments into my music so uhh, apologies if they sound a bit wonky. The other biggest challenge (besides mixing this beat) was DEF the wild piano parts! Transcribing those was really fun to figure out but DAMN if it didn't use up my brains entire RAM to process 5 audible seconds of piano lol.

Something I'm really proud of in this piece is the way I reharmonized certain parts. I've always been SO nervous to reharm pieces of established music because I didn't think I knew enough or would do it well, but I challenged myself a lot with this piece and I'm pretty happy with how it sounds!

I've been working really hard lately to spend more time on pieces and upload really FULL and BIG OL sounds rather than small little grooves as that is def something I'd like to work on and need to practice, so my next few uploads may be covers for the sake of me learning! I hope yall don't mind! It's just a fun way for me to practice mixing and arranging so that I grow stronger in my original compositions :^)

ALSO!! this is the longest amount of time I've spent on a piece lmao,,, I split sis up into 2ish days deadass,,, she was a beast
