Somehow, by sheer luck (and also that I've been practicing for the better part of four years), I managed to make it past the auditions phase of the Audio Deathmatch. Last year was the first time I made it past auditions for the NGUAC, but now it's the big one! I suppose my attempts to really hone in my skills for the last two years really aided in my abilities to get through this time... and I'm following up Silhouettes with a rip off RHCP track that would be better with vocals... yeah that's sure to get you through the competition, me!

Okay, to be clear this is only instrumental because when I was trying to write lyrics, I just ended up copying Californication. Even if I still have just under a week left to submit for this phase, I'd rather not risk having to write terrible lyrics at the last minute and instead give the lyrics some time to be written, hence the instrumental version being my submission for round 1.

So, the idea for this track came about from actually listening to some radio tracks while I was at work. I realised I'd heard every possible variation of the four chord loop, except the one that starts on the second chord in major (so G, in this case). I started to toss about ideas in my head, and when I came home, this track was born. It's a more traditional rock song, not like my regular metal stuff, but this was a nice challenge and change of pace compared to the old hyper-thick mixes I've had. I hope you enjoy!
