Fig N/A: The author was rather too busy with life shenanigans, sorry about that :/

The previous track was a hit! What do I do to follow that up? Make something that isn't anything like that of course!... wait.

That was mostly a one-off, something I'll make every like 20 tracks or so or something. I don't like going fast all that often. I mean I'm a deep house dog!... air-filled but that's beside the point.

I must say I'm a little nervous on my decision to scale things down quite a bit for round 1. I considered restarting and creating something more akin to the audition song but this song already took ages to finish and the deadline is just a few days away... I guess I just went too hard with my audition round, and that's something I can't change anymore.

I also went back to hard bass and kick, though the other drums are staying less present compared to my old tracks. I think this is a much better balance, if I wanted to go for something that isn't intense. I mean this song is intense but I'm talking intense intense, like the previous song...

Last time I put my voice in was almost a year ago! Has that much of a time passed?

Since then, I've changed gear a little bit. First, I'm no longer using AKG stuff, Koss KSC75 my beloved.

It was a pain lugging those giant headphones around everywhere, so I did what any sane creature would do and "downgrade" my gear from a 200+ dollar setup to a 30 dollar one... though it's now a 60 dollar setup since I got yaxi pads and parts express headband.

Good news is that after a bit of comparison I didn't lose much in terms of mastering ability! Sure the little boys were a little lacking compared to the K371, but I can safely say my skills aren't good enough to take advantage of that little lackey.

Another advantage to this kit is I now make music on the go! Or at least I'm more inclined to make music while traveling. I may not be the inspiration-filled airhead from a year prior, but expect me to upload at least two to three more tracks before this year ends!

And on that hopefully not-empty promise, I'll catcha later!

Lyrics (not in order)!

Scrutinize the hopes and dreams
crush your future, browse the memes
love the chaos, let them plea
browse the bins, filled with glee

Scrutinize your friends and foe
break the norm, ride a doe
to a race of the century
on top of a great scenery

p.s. The song was supposed to be a little bit slower, but I got lazy and stayed with 140bpm, which was the speed I recorded my voice to. It was also getting way longer than I'd like.

p.p.s. Next track may be a Weracidog track, if I manage to get to round 2. Though to be completely honest with y'all I'll be kinda happy making it up to here.

I like the quirky synth at the beginning. The beat and harmonic patterns are a bit cliche, and the progression is pretty slow-paced. I like the vocal samples at around 1:20, and the arpeggios at 1:23 are pretty soothing. I would’ve liked to see you come up with more advanced ways of creating variety in this piece besides adding and subtracting instruments over time, such as automation, filtering, dynamic contrast, and the like. The vocal samples start becoming a bit overused at the 2-minute mark or so, and the second half of the piece adds little novel harmonic content to keep me engaged. Overall, you clearly have a good sense of rhythm, harmony, and atmosphere, and the production quality is pretty good as well, but the composition here is rather bland and underwhelming. Still, there are some neat sound design choices and some catchy beats scattered throughout. Keep at it, PartyBalloof! :)

Kind of repetitive, but overall nice track. Enjoyed it very much. I can give you only 4 stars because of repetitiveness of it, but my tracks are even ( I think ) worse. Hope you will make more music like this. Bye bye! :)
