Fig N/A: Artist wanted this submitted on halloween (and couldn't paint fast enough). Just imagine a Wereweracidogwolf... I'll give you a hint she has two sets of arms and... uhh... *glances at sketch in absolute confusion*
I can't believe I spent last year's halloween not spooking even remotely. What was I thinking?!
Okay here's a real Miss Weracidog track for realsies. All her defining features are back, crazy drums, in-your-face reverb, don't-care-if-your-ears-are-worn-down-by-those-high-notes, and the war against drum and the rest of the instruments for the limited audio space... okay maybe not the last one. But still...
I couldn't post anything for the past few weeks due to my inspiration running out at one point or another... but as soon as I saw the halloween event thing (a few days ago) suddenly my brain decided to inspired once more.
That doesn't mean I was able to put all my best effort in the thing. If you haven't noticed, the song is rather high-frequency-heavy. As usual, I don't have enough bass, and the mid is there, but at the same time lacking. But the moment I boosted bass, the compressor screamed at me to turn it back. And for the mid situation, I kinda wanted this much reverb so I had no choice.
Oh and also I got fed up with the dumb glitch that hinders my workflow significantly, so now I own FLSM3 both on my iPad and my phone (though it's likely I'll never use my phone for FLSM3 ever again due to how dumb and janky it is). The iPad version is somehow 500% better in every way (except for the "adaptive framerate" or whatever, but I gave up on that a couple weeks ago to save battery life), so I guess I'll be using that from now on. Hey ImageLine, you're welcome, how dare you, and I hate you.
170BPM?! It's not the fastest I've ever made (that title belongs to Long Play, Press the Stop [200BPM]), but it's right where my limits are. When making Miss Weracidog tracks, I often find myself struggling against the balance between the drums and the rest of the tracks. The thing about her tracks is that the drums take a bunch of the audio space, usually leading to them outshining the other instruments.
What I've found to work nowadays is to tame the drums until they're quite mild (and won't stab your friends and family), then let the others shine a bit more, before letting go of the drums so they can go wild once more.
Also I've discovered that the app exports songs with a bit of volume headroom. This track in particular allowed me to go two whole decibels before the clipping started complaining. I wonder if an update caused this to happen, and if so that's the reason why some of my songs are so quiet compared to y'all's.
I hope you're satisfied with all this Weracidog focus, enough for me to put her on the floor and go back to deep house. Regardless, I'll catcha later!
p.s. The lore is, Miss Weracidog is some kind of acid werewolf. The creator (me) has yet to decide whether that's acid bubble(s) or acid liquid.
p.p.s. Merry Christmas!
p.p.p.s. I might draw Wereweracidogwolf later on, though I'm probably not going to make it in time for halloween.
