HO HO HOPE you become a Newgrounds Supporter this year!
We're working hard to give you the best site possible, but we have bills to pay and community support is vital to keep things going and growing. Thank you for considering!
This was in part inspired by The Last of Us. I was curious what the soundtrack of the game and TV series were like compared to each other and decided to see what that would be like if I had a go at it while drawing some influences from each.
I haven't actually played the game or seen the series so this is just what I would do. I listened to a few tracks and thought "oh, this features guitar heavily" and "oh they use a lot of synth pads" so that's about my only exposure to it.
So I tried to meld my actual nylon stringed classical guitar with electric guitar and then played some vst guitar while using my new toy - a Rock Band Fender Mustang Pro Midi controller - which is basically just a guitar shaped midi controller that I picked up second-hand for £35. It's pretty cool if you're like me and more guitar/bass inclined than keyboard. It's far from perfect in terms of the sensitivity, but it's one of the best Guitar Midi options that I've found, and cheap compared to the other ones out there that cost hundreds.
Anyway - the track ended up being about loneliness and madness to some extent I think. In some imagined far future where the solo voice or mind is subjected to intrusive thoughts. The guitar is the protagonist and the other guitars that are effected are variations on thoughts that can swirl and berate and confuse and echo a twisted vision back at you. "Echo a vision" doesn't really make sense strictly speaking - but I like the imagery and the mixed metaphor of it all.
I mean - if I were to explain what it was about, I'd say that perhaps...but also simply that I wanted to make something with my classical guitar, so I did.
EDIT: I also meant to mention that my idea was to have no Home key per se to reflect the idea of wandering/meandering which I'm sure isn't an original idea, but is an idea I quite like.

Excellent Post-Apocalyptica.
Please contact me if you would like to use this in a project. We can discuss the details.
