This track took a little bit of time to come up with. Though, it still was much faster than normal for me. Once i got the bassline down, everything just fell in place from there. This track has already been used by a few DJs other than myself in their live sets, so it's getting a pretty good reception, however, due to limitations on size, the quality went from 320 down to 112. So it's possible it may not be as good as it really is. Hope you enjoy!

sweet track

this track would make sick ambience like to spin some other shit with it. def very smooth/mellow. lovin it, keep up the good work, maybe spice it up a little bit.

bgong responds:

Thank you very much! I've yet to spin this track yet, but i know what you mean. It's going to be featured in a mix by my label pres, james christopher pretty soon. when that happens, i'll be sure to plaster the link anywhere i can :D as for spicing it up...i've been thinking if i can make a drastic enough change to merit a re-submission, i may work on doing that. I'd like to shorten it so i can keep the quality as high as possible, as well as change some of the EQ work, and add in some new stuff. I'll keep it posted. Thanks again for the review :)

nice, some harsh spots but overall great.

had me goin in the first 2 minutes. really like the change from around 2:01 until it changes again around 3:20 with the underwater sound. then the echoy sounds around 4:00 were a little harsh but goes back to the simple beat and get you goin again. i really liked the drop off at 5:36 more airy ambient part that makes it blend well when it merges again around 6:23. the bss sounds great and even with the quality down its overall a great piece. the strings that sneak in at 7:30 was a great touch too. ive got no complaints overall than it being a little bit repitive. nice work on a long piece i enjoy finding these rather than the high rated minute and a half tracks that almost loop themselves. great work and thanks for putting it on NG.

bgong responds:

thank you for an awesome review. I'm glad you enjoyed this track a lot :) I think you're right with the effects around 4:00. They are a bit loud, and need to be toned down a touch, and maybe less delay/echoey. Quality may have an issue, but i'm always gonna blame it on the quality for this track's size, haha! Thank you again for a great, detailed review :)

This reminded me of a Mario remix

That one part sounds like the "going through the pipe" sound from Mario. I typed the title of my review while trying to figure out what I would use this song in, or what I would listen to it while doing. I think, since it sounds like a mix of a fitness song and video game music...i would cook while playing it! I am a culinary student, and love to have a rhythm. It helps me focus wherever I am, but especially in the kitchen where my mind is a few hundred different places.

So, I will use your song to cook with, and I will give you a 4/5 (8/10) because the song is too long for my tastes, and there are parts i could do without (see 4:38). Thanks for an interesting song!

bgong responds:

haha, yeah, the one lead is very "gamey" sounding indeed :) very "marioesque" I'm glad you have a place to apply my song too :D I'm the same way, i do much better when i have music playing (i intern in a biomedical lab in a hospital...can get boring) so i know what you mean.

I'm glad you liked it, and thanks for the positive review and vote :) The length of the song is partly due to me like having a lot of song to mix. So typically, when i'll make a song, and get to sneak it in a dj set (self-promotion ftw) i like it to be a little longer than average, so i can play with it much more. I don't see what's wrong with 4:38...unless it's a quality issue. due to the length of the song, i HAD (against my will) to reduce the quality drastically down to 112 kbps, instead of 192+kbps or whatever. so...
