When mixing this track I tried using reference tracks of similar genre. I've heard about this technique before, but I thought it was more of a mastering process and didn't think much of it. But it turns out it's very usefull during the mixing phase as well. When I used a reference track during mixing phase, I realized that there was way too much low-end (which is typical for most of my mixes), and the kick drum was too loud. After I've mixed while ocasionally comparing my track to proffesionaly mixed similar genre songs, my mix seems to translate much better to all kinds of systems. I mostly had problems with car speakers, because my windows would blow up from too much low end which never seem like "too much" on headphones and normal speakers.
So yeah, I highly recommend trying referencing while mixing.
Ofc I'm not saying my mix is perfect. Feel free to criticise.
