I learned the basics of subharmonic singing. This song happened as I was recording my progress. If it doesn't sound like a synth stab or a drum sample, it's my voice. Yes, I am a biological female. All vocals processed in Howard Benson Vocals.
Lyrics:
Father forgive me, I have sinned
Father, I hated you
Black is the soul
Take me away from here
--
Say a prayer for me. I'm not eating, not sleeping. I go between insomnia and sleeping 12 hours, then up another 36 to 50. I could use a hug.

спс)))) Я было просто ошеломлена увидеть, что трек дошел даже до Тома -- а он лично его ставил в плейлист!
I agree with BBaNK on the bit about more character on the drums, but I love the droning nature of this, more than anything. I love the subdued nature of this apocalyptic presentation -- it's reminding me very much of the later tracks on Carpenter Brut's Trilogy LP -- I think it's a total vibe.
The way it dips out so fast it makes me think that there's another track that is meant to follow!
I would listen to this kinda stuff on long late night drives all the time when I was younger. Shit's hype :)
That's a high compliment! I actually started this track off with nothing but the throat singing, a random dubstep drum loop that I clipped into dnb, and some samples I had made myself from clapstack cymbals. A huge experiment and a rush-job, but I think it paid off
One of these days I want to revisit and de-ess the vocals some more. I was recording 2 inches from an unshielded mic at whisper volume. You can kinda hear my Russian hard H and non-aspirated T aha
I wouldn't say this song is dnb but techno or chillstep... you know. I would also say that it could have more variations of beats in the transitions, or that it makes it clear that "another part of the song is to come"
the music has no ups and downs, it's straight and steady with low BPM, one more point to classify as chillstep.
Personally speaking, I don't really like it when the song repeats the lyrics, that doesn't make the song bad i mean
and I love how the Distorted Bass was used.
Tyty. I agree with all your points. It's sort of a cross between dnb and chillstep, dnb because of the breaks, and as you mentioned, chillstep because it's pretty chilled out haha.
The bass is actually my voice *blush* unless you mean the Goldeneye synth bass, that one is a soundfont
This slaps! The deep vocals give a trancey/spiritual feel which goes well with the beats.
Thank youuuuuuu <3
Apart from the fact it is slightly repetitive, and doesn't have very much composition for that matter, it definitely succeeds at what it's trying to achieve! I really like how you used throatsinging as a vocal bed, I like the vibration and deepness of it. Maybe you could have some more variety on that as well... Maybe try going a bit higher? Also, overall the sheer quality of the song does make up for the repetitiveness, cus you can definitely hear an experienced producer here.
Thank you! I don't know how this review got lost in my notifications. You're on point. I threw this one together out of some recorded clips as I was singing to hear my own progress, so there is not a lot going on, at least for length. I suppose perhaps I could have made flashier transitions if I didn't want to make it much more melodic or push in too many directions at once
