I like the furtive pads at the beginning. The mix is a bit quiet, but otherwise clear. A little compression could go a long way here. The drums help keep things going for a while, but overall the texture is very minimal, and could use a lot more variety. I like when the piece picks up steam a bit at 1:46, but the sub-bass is a tad loud and the texture could still use some more fill. The lo-fi production quality, mood, and sound design are really nice here, but I wanted to see you do more with the composition. You could totally layer on a killer brass solo or vocals here. I’d encourage you to keep working on this - with a bit more harmonic depth and variety, you could really sell both the laid-back and melancholic elements of the sound design here. Keep at it, emersonkid! ^_^
