From Tasukete - Definitive Edition

I made my album Tasukete last year, but as the year went on, I started to hate the project. It felt largely unfinished, didn't seem to know what tone it was going for, and was an all around mess of an album. This year, I thought to remaster the album. I was originally just going to remaster it and cut some of the superfluous tracks, but then I just kept working on it until 3 weeks later, I had a nearly entirely different album. Tasukete was always meant to be a followup to my second album, Kintsugi. Kintsugi was an album about raw emotion and pain. Tasukete is also raw emotions, but this time it's anger.

This track comes near the end of the album though, when all the anger has ceased and all that's left is you, yourself, and the empty room you've created. This is a remix of my track If I Was Someone Else, I Would Be Enjoying This, which was on the original Tasukete. The original version felt more hopeful, and I wanted this song to have little to no hope. It's empty, much like the protagonist of the album is.

This track is comprised of one synth and one keyboard, but both of them have been heavily modified. The synth is Vital, the voice "LORN style Lead", which has had its speed changed and has been low passed to shit to take out a lot of highs. The keyboard is, to my memory, my Yamaha PSR-175. I think it was being fed through a FANGS distortion pedal. Both of these have been furthered modified in Adobe Audition with so many effects that I can't remember them all. A lot of reverb and EQing, that's for sure.

Rain sound effect is one I recorded myself last year. This song transitions into two other songs; a continuous storm at the end of the album.
