Fall Away

Totally unexpected, bomb ass collab of @SkankyMojo and yours truly. It all started in December with one guitar lick and the permission to go completely insane!

The process has shocked us both multiple times over with how well we work together. It came as I was going through a bit of a slump after my work on a HUGE remix of Can You See The Clouds Divide, meanwhile SkankyMojo was chipping away at an album. That's actually how we linked up and got inspired!

Besides pulling out all the stops on the track, we decided whatever we did, we wanted to drop some fire bars and solos. Somehow it turned from Drum & Bass to the Frankenstein genre of electronic rap metal you hear today, and neither of us is sorry.

Track deets below.

Lyrics:

I have loved and I lost humanity

I have learned as I watched it fall away

Far away from me

Nobody knows how to read

Nobody knows who to be

Shouldn't believe what I see, but who's telling me

We fall apart at the seams

And we don't know what it means

Think I forgot how to breathe as we lay dying

From depression of reflection how nobody really needs us

Harder than admitting that we really needed Jesus

Haven't really noticed that we act like he beneath us

Holier than thou to anybody who can see us

You are no exception to the human condition

To think your vision efficient to say that you are not sinning

When you are living to fit in with all the fucking division

And I am tired of giving attention to your opinion about

Gunfights late nights sleeping in the streets

Lil baby dodging bullets that was never meant for me

White kid in the hood shooting dice with the Gs

Grown up chasing paper knowing nothing is for free

I have loved and I watched it fall away

Do you remember when this started?

Before the light first parted the darkness

Back when Eden was starless

Until the bearer he dared to charm us

Three seraphim forgot to sing

And as they fell from heaven they broke all six wings

From the 9 quires, to the depth of sin

We're infinite without, we're one within

Gun fights late nights sleeping in the streets

Lil baby dodging bullets that was never meant for me

Kid in the hood shooting dice with the Gs

Grown up chasing paper knowing nothing is for free

Roll up with the freaks higher than the seven seas

On the first day of college act like knowledge a disease

But I seen to many lives cut short by the steez

Mo money mo problems buying stones to relieve

Special thanks to @Troisnyx, @LD-W and their respective communities for helping bring us together musically, @TaintedLogic and @ChronoNomad for the multiple competitions you've run through the years. Without those we probably never would have known who each other were. It's been a great ride. Happy to see it through together!

All the best

The song has great energy and powerful vocals. There's a lot of variation in the soundscape, making it a well-structured composition with well-defined, balanced, and organized strong tonalities that contribute to a high-intensity environment. Excellent teamwork!

ADR3-N responds:

Thank you! The whole project really came as a shock, more so than usual even. I feel like @SkankyMojo was the glue that tied it all together, the secret sauce. Without him it'd just be another unfinished project, or lyric files sitting in the corner waiting for an inspired beat! He did a fantastic job with the chord progression and bridge, which exceeded both of our expectations. Really floored me the first time I heard it and is still my favorite part of the song!

ADR3-N responds:

SkankyMojo responds:

This is rad! The mix of genres works really well, keeps it very fresh while listening. You guys should start a band doing more of this. And if you ever need a bass player... ahem

ADR3-N responds:

Woot! Ty. Yeah, this was the most fun I had all month. I think you can really hear how much we were enjoying ourselves on the track. I've heard your stuff through various compos. Definitely have to talk!

SkankyMojo responds:

Thanks for the kind words my friend. 🙏🏽

soo couple things:

1. I really like the unique-ness of your voice on this one. It's raw, but it feels like it just fits so perfectly.
2. I love the weird, poppy, rock mix and how it goes in and out of different genres pretty seamlessly. A couple spots seem a little forced, but nothing too drastic or worth complaining about as a casual listener.
3. Sooo I'm moving next month, and have an awesome collab in the works with @Burn7 who I've been a fan of for years (so excited for it), but when I'm settled in at the new house, we gotta hop into a project again! I loved working with you!

ADR3-N responds:

1. Ty! Some of that is a little bit of distortion on top of vocal AIs I made of myself. The rest is me screaming 3in from the mic xD
2. Double ty! I really think we went balls to the wall crazy. It was never really supposed to be overly serious or sacred, just new and unique. I'm glad it seems to be in a good way!
3. Absolutely dude! I absolutely love your harsh vocals. Would be freaking sick to work together again!

Oooh yeah this rocks! At some points the vocals felt oddly placed spatially, but the instrumental was so heavy it didn't matter. Great work you two!

ADR3-N responds:

Hell yeah! The vocals being spaced odd may be 80s style chorus and vocal layering, and like a million layers of vocoders, AI vox in the back and so on. Whole project was a gigantic experiment for us both. At some point I just stopped counting all the layers!
