the around the middle kinda sounds like clocks by coldplay
This was originally supposed to be a bittersweet instrumental song, but it ended up being a bit too motivating for that. It's still an instrumental song, so hit me up if you want to make some lyrics or sing! I mixed a bunch of instruments to make an orchestral/cinematic sort of song. Even though there are no real main melodies in this song, it's still catchy in a way.
This song hits harder for me, because I feel as if this is the first song where I've taken a huge step forward skill-wise. That's why I decided to get true, talented artists for this song. I'm proud of it, and I want this to reflect that. And it truly does reflect it! The cover art is amazing! And the background art... I have no words.
Starting from here, I think I'm moving into a new stage of my composing journey.
And I can't wait!
What I learned:
1. More mixing. Learned how to minimize clipping while keeping it loud enough
2. How to commission artists!
3. Mastering ZGameEditor Visualizer
4. Making more orchestral/cinematic music
5. How to make spicatto strings sound cool with volume automation
6. Sound designing a soft pad
7. Using cinematic drums (timpanis) to add a cool drum (duh) sound
8. Mixing realistic instruments with synths
9. Using a clock ticking sample
10. Using new instrument VSTs!

I see what you mean!
Good job!
I hear pads drowning the instruments sound. Use little sidechain for this and it will be more juicy ;))
Thanks! Ironically I learned how to sidechain around 4 days after posting this...
I think this works pretty good as one of those inspirational songs, though it feels just a bit discordant from 2:15 to 2:29 (when the drum hits it feels like the song gets thrown off-kilter a bit in terms of harmony). I'm not sure if the drum is specifically to blame though, because after that it's not so bad.
Good work on this. Keep honing your craft.
Oh yeah, I changed the chord progression on that one. Not too happy with it. I see what you mean though. Maybe next time I'll try getting the chords to run a bit smoother, it might help. Thanks!
