The captain of a damaged ship steps outside of her vessel to asset the damage done to her ship in Darkness.

All of the sound effects you hear in this track were made by me, from the leaking compressed air, to the door of the ship opening. That sound isn't as complex at it seems. The base of it is an old, rusted automatic door from a nearby thrift store, layer twice on itself at two different speeds. Also contains samples of more compressed air, a hydraulic door from an aircraft, and a top stock cart unhitching its ladder at Walmart. The sound of the ship running is an old treadmill operating, but pitched down. The breathing is me breathing into a bucket, which yes, it was about as weird as you think it was.

Piano is a nearly 100 year old cabinet piano that hasn't been tuned or repaired since the 80's, playing at half speed. And yes, the overall sound design is inspired by 2001: A Space Odyssey.
