No Man's Land (Demo)

This is my entry for NGADM and NGUAC 2024.

With this track, I wanted to represent the constant tension that exists in No Man's land, a zone of confrontation between two sides in a war, and the courage of a soldier in the midst of it all.

I imagined and created this as a film soundtrack. I made a big effort to create a sound that didn't sound too much like cheesy Hollywood music in that respect. I hope this music sounds new to you.

I think it is hot but!

Honestly I'm not entirely happy with this. I rushed this one. I usually spend months to years creating one track. This time I didn't have that luxury because I had a deadline for a contest. Oh well, a few weeks is a too short time to create one track. So, I will really finish this after the contest period is over and then update or re-upload it. Think of this as a demo.

Absolutely stellar stuff IMO, I'm using this in my solo Geometry Dash level :fire:

Good news!

My music will be available on GD soon. Maybe even now!

Looking forward to seeing your level. I'll definitely play it😁

I can't imagine why you don't like this one! The ideas are great, the orchestration and sound design choices are just right, and the overall cohesiveness is really impressive

Snikio responds:

I love it! It just sounds unfinished to me haha... Hence I will upload the full version of it when I complete it. Thank you so muuuch 😄😄

Not bad!

Snikio responds:

Your comment is better than this song

Reminds me of the Intravenous ost by Xtrullor. Really good sound design with good sense of dread. 👍

Snikio responds:

Oh! I love that! especially the one called Woe! and he made Intravenous 2 recently right??

I'm glad to hear that haha thank you

I think with taming the reverb a bit, adjusting compression throughout (where you want more dynamic range and where you want less), and some minor bumps on the EQ would make this track flawless.

Great sound design!

Could do with some more panning and instrument layers on your strings, cello -- they sound a bit resonant as well, perhaps overly reverbed. I do wish there were more bass in the low and sub range to drive the track. But overall you took the mood, tackled and pummeled it to a bloody pulp. Nailed it.

8.4/10

Snikio responds:

thank you so much!!!
woah, our review is so specific, detailed and encouraging. thank you for making me HEAR things that was actually problem but I didn't realized when making it. I'll fix it😄 And if possible, can I ask your opinion again when I finish this track?? I would love to hear it!

I heard your condition isn't good now. Wish you the best ADR3-N!
