This is the background song for the game "Blunder Builders" which I created with a friend for the 2024 Game Maker's Toolkit game jam. (Please check it out, we're quite proud of it!)

It's a game about building shoddy houses, and I originally was imagining something more guitar heavy and home-depot-esque but I wasn't really in that kind of mood. I ended up slicing up a loop from Zero-G's "Planet of the Breaks" CD and adding some extra crunch (though the sample was already pretty crunchy) to give it a gruff and tough kinda vibe... which I didn't end up doing because I found a real smooth patch called Butter in "Surge XT" which i've been playing with a lot lately. (it used to be a premium VST but now it's open source so definitely check it out!)

Out of anything, I'm especially proud of the solo at the end, which was an edited version of some actual improvisation I did trying to figure out ideas. It's not perfect, but I think that's what makes it for me.
