This is a song with many meanings to me.

First off, it's about Autumn where I'm at now. The trees are turning beautiful colours, the weather grows cold, I see leaves blowing around, and I often want nothing more than to spend some time laying in the leaves though I am an adult. All this informed the orchestration, the key, the harmony, and definitely parts of the melody.

Second, I am trying to put more soul into the music. No more repetitive melodies or boring instrumentation, but instead a chance for the song to really develop and speak its mind. In part this is due to a friend's word of advice. It's also me trying to channel more emotion for my own reasons. I find that letting this in my music helps my mental health because I don't have to feel so bottled up or emotionally constricted anymore.

Third, this is the most anime-esque song I've published here. I took a lot of my inspiration for this melody from listening to anime songs, particularly OSTs. Whatever images flowed to mind here I tried to replicate in the music. All things considered, I did a very good job of writing something that I think could sound like it was in an anime but that also works on Newgrounds.

It may have taken me a month and well-past the equinox, but I'm very proud of this on every aspect. It's not the best in all ways, but I think I did well even on the mixing and arranging, which I'm sometimes not the best at. May this bring joy to your Autumn days.
